March is international women month. DKT Tanzania leveraged this month by cementing our relationship with women who are majority of our end users. We positioned our ethical products such as emergency contraceptives (Trust Daisy) and oral contraceptives (Trust Lily) as brands that care about women health by partnering with women empowerment events across the country, namely ‘’Mwanamke Kinara’’ organized by East Africa TV, and’’ Mwanamke na Malengo yake ‘’ which is organized by a popular nurse in Dar es salaam, Tanzania, ‘’Aunty Latifah’’.

For DKT Tanzania, Women month theme was ‘’My body, my decisions’’. At the events DKT Tanzania was provided opportunities to speak to women in attendance, on the role of family planning for economic growth, and empowered them into taking more control of their bodies as opposed to letting their partners decide for them, how many children they have and when.  And hence get time to build their family economies.

Collectively, the events reached over 550 women on ground.  We set a branded booth at the venues and sampled approximately 200 contraceptives (Both OCP/Trust Lily , and emergency /EC), we gave over 500 product flyers for Trust Lily and Daisy and over 120 branded Tshirts.

As if that wasn’t enough, there was a TV Live broadcasts for EATV’s Mwanamke Kinara event, which also provided DKT Tanzania a wider platform for product visibility of our products and therefore expanded our reach. East Africa TV, which broadcasts across the East African countries of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, has an average viewership of 1million a day.
